漫长的等待结束了！Mastermind在此荣幸宣布，BADBADNOTGOOD中国巡演将于2019年11月21日、22日，分别来到北京糖果LIVE和上海南梦宫未来剧场进行演出，中国的乐迷朋友们终于有机会近距离接触这支融合Jazz、Hip-Hop、Electronica、Krautrock、Post-Rock等风格于一身的器乐四重奏乐队，亲身感受BADBADNOTGOOD所呈现的酣畅淋漓的演出现场！
同时，我们还有一个好消息要公布，那就是Mastermind的首位签约音乐人将全程作为演出嘉宾参与到BADBADNOTGOOD的中国巡演中，他就是集唱作人、多器乐演奏者和制作人于一身的——BowAsWell！这次演出也是他与乐队的首次登台露面，请大家拭目以待。我们将会在日后的推送中为大家详细介绍这位年轻有为的音乐人。
The wait is over! Mastermind is proud to announce the China Tour of one of the most exciting, talented, and fresh jazzy instrumental bands in the world, BADBADNOTGOOD. We are also excited to introduce our first ever signed artist, Bowaswell — a talented 21-year-old multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer— as a supporting act.
BADBADNOTGOOD
BADBADBADNOTGOOD是由来自加拿大的四位年轻人组成的器乐乐队。
2011年，他们在多伦多亨博学院的一次演出活动中结识，并从此踏上了一段广受好评、有章可循的音乐之旅。混合着器乐嘻哈的灵气、爵士乐的即兴桥段和太空质感的电子乐，这支多伦多四重奏让“爵士乐的音乐哲学向音乐家独特的个人风格倾斜，从而决定了他们跨越风格的质变”(西雅图时报)。
乐队成立初期，BBNG以“Odd Trio”为代号在网络上发布了器乐改编翻弹Odd Future的作品，后受到OF成员Tyler, The Creator的关注和合作邀约。之后他们又受到就职于BBC的著名DJ、音乐鉴赏家Gilles Peterson的力捧，并由此登上著名音乐直播平台Boiler Room的舞台。BBNG所做的并不是毫无二致的歌曲翻弹，而是用精湛的爵士演奏技巧结合自身与众不同的创作理念对经典的Hip-Hop音乐进行改编，他们打破了传统音乐中对“标准”的定义，写下独具一格的新规则。
BBNG凭借其2014年出版的第三张专辑《III》风靡乐坛，这是他们首度尝试原创音乐。该专辑在爵士乐的基础上柔和德式摇滚、抒情歌曲、充满未来感的Hip-Hop律动和即兴桥段，这是一张胆量过人又无比精致的爵士乐专辑，BBNG也因此得到与众多全球顶尖音乐家的合作机会。2016年，他们终于推出了备受全球乐迷期待的新专辑《IV》，它继续着BBNG的前卫思维理念，听起来就像介乎于Can, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters, Weather Report, Arthur Russell和MF DOOM之间的一场即兴风暴。
BBNG赢得了全球范围的赞誉，并在近年来陆续与Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, the Creator, Frank Ocean, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, KAYTRANADA, MF Doom, Earl Sweatshirt, Denzel Curry, Danny Brown, Mick Jenkins, RZA, Ghostface Killah 等著名音乐人合作。他们激烈的现场表演把全球不同风格的音乐爱好者聚到一起，并横跨Coachella和Glastonbury等大型音乐节。
BADBADBADNOTGOOD is the talented young quartet of Matthew Tavares on keys, Chester Hansen on bass, Alex Sowinski on drums & Leland Whitty on saxophone. They formed and became inseparable friends at Humber College’s Music Performance program in 2011 and have been on a critically acclaimed, rule bending musical journey ever since. Mixing instrumental hip hop with free improvisation and spacey electronica, the virtuosic Toronto quartet BADBADNOTGOOD lets "the jazz philosophy of music bending to individual musicians' styles shape their genre-hopping evolution." (The Seattle Times).
With early champions including acclaimed BBC broadcaster Gilles Peterson and Tyler The Creator who helped fuel their discovery with a series of live jams that instantly went viral and dubbed them the "Odd Trio." The marriage of jazz virtuosity and hip hop source material offered a fresh take on the traditional "standard" applied to hip hop classics by taking on choice cuts from the golden era rap cannon and writing inspired arrangements for them instead of one-dimensional covers.BBNG took the music world by storm with their 2014 LP, III, a brash yet refined record of angular jazz improvisations, lush ballads, kraut rock, & futuristic hip-hop tinged rhythms which led to a couple years of touring the world & collaborating with some of the best and brightest artists around the globe. In 2016, The boys are back with the new album IV, their most impressive and highly anticipated project yet. IV continues their forward thinking progression, sounding something like a jam session in space between Can, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters, Weather Report, Arthur Russell & MF DOOM.They've won praise from the four corners of the globe and collaborated with Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, the Creator, Frank Ocean, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, KAYTRANADA, MF Doom, Earl Sweatshirt, Denzel Curry, Danny Brown, Mick Jenkins, and Ghostface Killah and RZA among many. BowAsWell
BowAsWell的音乐是迷幻音乐、电子音乐与黑人音乐律动的巧妙结合。富有律动感的节奏作为歌曲结实的基底，随时触动着你的舞蹈神经，而令人微醺的迷幻旋律和松弛的唱腔又像一阵浪漫的夏夜晚风，轻抚过你的脸颊和身体。他们所使用的模拟合成器、磁带延迟等Vintage设备及其细腻的编曲、混音手法，使他们的音乐在复古和摩登之间找到平衡。
BowAsWell的创作核心成员张一弛现就读于中央美院，他有着独立唱作人、多乐器演奏者和音乐制作人等多重身份。张一弛自幼便对艺术产生浓厚兴趣，儿时在姐姐的iPod上接触到Hip-Hop、R&B、Soul和各类独立音乐，并早在12岁时便得到了人生中第一把吉他和一块独立声卡，踏入了音乐制作的世界……这些经历也解释了为什么这个现年仅21岁的年轻人能作出如此成熟的作品，并能同时精通着吉他、贝斯、架子鼓三种乐器的演奏技巧。
2018年，张一弛以“弓也”的英文直译“BowAsWell”为名，开启了自己的Home Studio音乐计划。第二年，贝斯手刘梓峰和鼓手高宇阳的加入使BowAsWell扩展为三人编制。作为央美校友的刘梓峰是张一弛多年来的音乐伙伴，自幼学习古典吉他并精通Funk、Blues音乐演奏手法。而曾在深圳研习架子鼓多年的高宇阳是位深受众多黑人鼓手与Funk、Gospel音乐影响深远的年轻鼓手。他们的加入让BowAsWell呈现出更加完整的一面。
2019年，BowAsWell签约地球娱乐旗下厂牌Mastermind，并已开始着手制作首张全长专辑，敬请期待！
Bow As Well’s sound is a smart mixture of groove music and psychedelic, rock and electronic music. While those Groovy and punchy drums touches your dancing nerve, his dreamy melody and slightly intoxicating vocal makes you feel like a chill breeze blew over your cheeks and your body. His usage of analog synths, outboard gear, vintage equipments and mixing techniques makes his music feel nostalgic and modern at the same time. Just put your headphones on and immerse in the smooth vibe that his music presents.
Being the core member of Bow As Well, Beijing-based singer-songwriter, Multi instrumentalist and Producer Yichi Zhang is currently studying experimental art at the Central academy of fine art. At the age of 10, he started listening to music on his sister’s iPod, and was introduced to the world of Hip Hop, R&B, Soul and all kinds of indie and pop music. At 12, he got his first electric guitar and an audio interface as birthday present, and all started from there. This explains why this 21-year-old boy could end up delivering such decent, full sounding music, and be able to master guitar, bass and drums.
In 2018, based on the literal translation of the last character of his chinese name “弓也” , Yichi Zhang started Bow As Well as a music project. After joined by Bassist Zifeng Liu and Drummer Yuyang Gao a year later，Bow As Well had extended to a 3 piece band. Yichi Zhang and Zifeng Liu has been exchanging musical ideas for years and study together at the Central academy of fine art, he studied classical guitar from a very young age and also had a great understanding of how to play bass in a funky and bluesy way. The same connection to Groove can also be applied to Yuyang Gao , who played and studied drums in Shenzhen for many years and is heavily influenced by Funk and Gospel music. The love for funk and groove brought the three together and a more complete sound to Bow As Well.
In 2019, Bow As Well is signed to Mastermind, which is a record label subordinate to Earth entertainment company. His debut album is currently in the making. Coming soon.
